RECM: Follow your conviction

RECM TOPP* Program

A SAICA-accredited CA(SA) training program (articles)

*Training Outside Public Practice

If you’re reading this, you’re probably studying towards your CA(SA), or you’re the parent of someone who is, and you’re looking for the right place to do your SAICA training contract (articles). You’ve probably also decided that the traditional route, articles at an audit firm after your postgraduate studies (CTA/PGDA), isn’t for you.

Who it is for

If you’re one of those rare beasts who chose the CA route to understand how business works, where finance fits in and how good decisions get made, so that you can be part of ‘the business of business’ rather than reporting on it, this program is for you.

The RECM TOPP suits young professionals who want to move into corporate finance, financial management and, in time, management roles. You’ll work closely with operational managers and business leaders, right at the heart of the business: strategy and decision-making, product design, sales, project management, systems development, analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and leadership. All of it real, hands-on work.

An opportunity for young leaders to grow

We’ll be honest: we designed TOPP for selfish reasons. We want to grow the next generation of business leaders in our group. Along the way, you’ll experience, learn from and contribute to a wide range of businesses: corporate advisory at Questco, vehicle leasing and finance at Flexi Mobility, fund management at RECM, wealth management at Wells Faber, the investment holding companies Astoria, Maximus and Beagle, and industrial businesses such as Goldrush, Sloom and Hero Motorcycles.

By the end of the program, you’ll know how your qualification works in a real business, because you’ll have been part of one. With your CA(SA) in hand, you’ll be well placed to find your next opportunity in business. Hopefully with us!

We take up to three candidates a year.
